Ducks force a G5 in Anaheim

Go Ducks.

You'd think after letting in 4 gazillion PP goals, they'd figure out how to not let Dallas make cross ice passes through the box.

im gonna have to diagram the ducks PK tommorow morning at work..

the only downer about todays game

that picture is priceless..where u get that...haha...laughing my arse off

I feel partially responsible, Morbo and Spade. I made a comment in an IM during the second intermission where I said (loosely):

"I'm not even sure if I want this game to be a shutout; they'll still be down in the series and I don't want them to get overconfident.

Sometimes it's not the best thing to devastate an opponent. Remember Detroit last spring--they won G3 in Anaheim 5-0, but then never won again."

So I got my "wish", sort of.

that picture is priceless..where u get that...

I forget, some image search. It's been on the hard drive for a while.

I've seen that photo before; it was explained over a snopes.com. Apparently, it was part of a Western Union commercial shoot, and those were just props, not real ducks.

Damn I was right. I said put in Parros, and we did. We then proceeded to win. His presence on the bench is the key to victory.

Who knew adding May Day to the first line would have such a positive impact. It was fun to watch him play on that line.

yea crazy how may makes zero impact during the regualr season but seems to come alive during the playoffs...

that reminds me of that goal last year when her took some dude out on the forecheck and the puck got kicked back to the point and we scored...

forgot who that was against..

p.s. side note..does anyone else notice throughout the year...that carter seems aggitate people somehow?...hes always getting extra facewashes and rabbit punches...corey perry must be rubbing off...its weierd cuz it never appears he says much or does much...

I liked all of Carlyle's moves yesterday. Carter & Bertuzzi seems to work out pretty well too (Carter works hard enough for both of them), and we haven't brought up the biggest feature:

Niedermayer & Pronger as even-strength partners. That's the ace-in-the-hole move Carlyle breaks out in case of great emergency.

Every time he throws those two together, (a) I never see it coming, and (b) I always say "Ah, that made perfect sense" afterwards.

the impact scott n. and pronger made toghter i think was it seemed to make dallas change there lines when they saw those two out there...

less morrow-ribero is a good thing..a scare kinda tatic haha

p.s. thanx mike for bookmarking

Note to the L.A. Times:

It is not acceptable to have a headline in today's sports page that reads "Niedermayer could be out for rest of playoff series" without the super-critical word "ROB".

My heart skipped a beat there for a second.

Same thing happened to me when TSN had the headline, "Blake Has Cancer," before I realized it was Jason, not Rob.

Oh man! I guess Corey Perry has been upgraded from "possible" to "likely" to play in G4!

Hope this isn't bad news for a certain Moustache.

u beat me to it earl..easily weight needs to be shown the bench...i think they should ease corey in..let him play with parros and suthersby..and on the PP

u can also flip flop may and perry depending on how perry is feeling...or to mix things ups...

Earl Sleek said...

Yeah, if everyone's healthy Weight or Sutherby should be sitting (won't matter that much, 4th line minutes and all). Maybe both if Bobby Ryan gets another shot.

I am a bit worried about Ryan Carter, though. I think he got one shift in after the Morrow knee in the 3rd. Losing Carter would be a blow, as he had the best hustle last night (enough to cover Bertuzzi's ass more than once).
