Hockey's On

We may disagree on who our favorite team is (Kings), who's better between Ovechkin and Crosby (Crosby), who the best looking CBC commentator is (obviously Kelly Hrudey), or whether Rob Blake is a weiner or not (well, apparently not, everyone knows he is), but I think we can all agree that hockey is awesome. And it's back.

And Tampa Bay still sucks. Everything is right with the world.

I was wondering who the color guy was because he seemed pretty good but there was something in his voice that made me hate him. Then I realized it was Marc Crawford.

Also, that Lundqvist save on Stamkos' breakaway was a great "Welcome to the NHL" moment.

Is the NHL Network just showing the CBC feed? I was going to brag about getting to watch Kelly Hrudey do studio work, but if you're getting it as well, I feel less special.

Vive le CBC du Canada!

Yeah, they were. I have to admit, it was pretty awesome compared to Versus. The CBC guys are way better at picking up little things like a puck off the post.

The Versus guys are too busy talking about what garbage programming they've got coming up to get into such trivialities.

I didn't even know it was crawford until the intermission, when they said something like "As crawford alluded to..."

I thought he did pretty well. It's impossible to articulate, in english, exactly how much better he is than the versus standby Ed olcyk. But it was definitely more pleasing to my earholes.

I agree as well that I'd rather hear the CBC broadcast team than that from Versus, but geesh... the NHL doesn't appears to be doing much in the way of "expanding the fan base".

Seems to me the league should work really hard to have the first two games of the season on a channel that most people in the US actually get.

However, not the case.

Oh, it's hands down Kelly Hrudey. To be fair though, it's not like it's much of a competition :P

I also agree about Crosby.
