Game 1: a sloppy joe of hockey
Breaking out the 'ol Sleek "Robo-das" photoshop one more time
Even after the lockout, it’s nice to be reminded that comebacks are completely possible in hockey. The Stars were down 4-2 in the third period after some really sloppy turnovers and it looked like
In a matter of minutes, the game was tied 4-4 and the
Of course, the Columbus Blue Jackets ended up winning in OT after a beautiful wrist shot goal by Rick Nash. It was a really rough, sometimes sloppy game and the Stars should be happy they got a point from this one.
Instead of Fabian Brunnstrom, the new guy to watch might be James Neal. Neal scored a goal in the second period and played a solid 16 minutes tonight.
The most interesting stat line of the night might belong to Stephane Robidas, who might continue the momentum from a postseason that inspired Earl Sleek to nickname him “Robo-das.” He managed to register a -2 even though he had three assists.
The Stars certainly have some things to work on, but at least they didn’t leave empty handed.

Heh. At this point in my blog career, I am more than comfortable breaking out the ol' classics.
Won't be the last Robo-das appearance, I'm sure.
BTW, Center Ice screwed me on this one. Had to watch St. Loo beat the Preds instead, as only two of the channels worked.
I just had to go ahead and order Center Ice this afternoon. There was no free preview for me, even though that damn free preview scroll shows up constantly ... mocking me.
Really wanted to watch that Anaheim - San Jose game on Thursday.
(And hell yes, that Robo-das graphic will be used again! You know me too well)
Is Robidas still wearing a full cage? I almost put him as an honorable mention for my favorite non-King but I can't respect a man that face washes someone whil wearing a bird cage.
The cage is off - pretty sure he broke something 2 or 3 times before he used it in the playoffs. Heh.
How long have you had that dog avatar/photo/whateverthefuck Rudy? It fits you like a glove (at least if that great off-season post was any indication).
Well, Dallas started the third period with a 2-1 lead. In a matter of several minutes, Columbus took the 4-2 lead. Then, Dallas scored a couple late goals. So I don't know what to make of this game.
But for the sake of the Pacific Division, at least Dallas only got 1 point.
I've had it for one day. I'm adorable.
