You smell that? Do you smell that? DUCK, son. Nothing else in the NHL smells like that. I love the smell of DUCK in the morning. You know, one time we had Honda Center bombed, for twelve periods. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' DUCK body. The smell, you know that roasted duck smell, the whole Pond of Anaheim! Smelled like … VICTORY
I thought all of you Anaheim fans were overreacting about the ducks efforts in previous games, but now I see you were pretty spot on. That was an atrocious game from Anaheim. The were skating like a team of Ryan Hollweg's that thought they were entitled to victory. Oh well, your loss, suckers!
If it makes you feel better to say the game was handed to the Kings, that's fine. It's still 2 points for the Kings and an embarrassment for the Clucks. The score speaks for itself. The Ducks played horribly.
Yeah, what will be lost in this boxscore is that the Ducks scored on 2 of their first 3 shots, by Brian Sutherby and Todd Marchant.
Sutherby, for those who aren't aware, had previously played 52 regular seasons and playoff games for the Ducks, and that was his first goal scored with a webbed foot on his chest.
And Marchant? Well, we all can attest to his unfortunate "stone hands" malady. He's damn useful on the Xbox, however.
Anybody wanna talk about the fact that the Kings have not yet allowed a powerplay goal in three games? So far this season, they have a perfect, 100% penalty kill.
100% penalty kill. How cool is that? I know it's really early in the season, but I've seen more from this season's team than I expected. Hopefully they can keep up the good work.
Must be the new view... The ducks just broke down and sucked. Part of that sucking was taking too many (stupid)penalties. The Kings weren't handed that game, they took it. The Clucks only shot themselves in the foot by taking the stupid penalties. Not all of the Kings' goals (3) were PP goals. The first two goals that Anaheim had were ugly. Selanne's goal in the game was beautiful. The Kings were all over Anaheim period. Now if you're saying that the game was handed to them by Anaheim's horrible playing, I'll agree with you and take back what I just wrote. But if you're implying that the officiating handed the Kings the game, it all applies. The Clucks played horribly tonight. They are a much better team than how they are playing. You won't hear me crying any tears over that though.
The Kings were handed a gift and they ran with it. I'm not sure the Kings of last year would have been able to hold onto that lead. Selanne's goal was nice, but it was too little, too late. The Ducks broke down defensively left and right and took too many penalties. They will end up higher than the Kings at the end of the season, but tonight was a nice first win.
Meh, rinkside view didn't bother me too much, but they did kind of suck. When they first talked about it, I figured they would switch between the orignal cameras and the rinkside cameras. When I realized they were sticking with them for the whole time, I was slightly aggrivated.
Brokeyard, I pretty much agree with you, but actually I didn't have that much trouble last night either. Maybe it's just my Row B training, but I guess I'm kind of used to seeing hockey a bit like that.
Granted, I'm way more used to the "traditional" format, but I'm fairly adaptable, it seems.
I tried to watch the Ducks/Coyotes game and Kings/Ducks game on Center Ice, but the camera views made me sick. And angry. Then I realized I was wasting time getting worked up about the presentation of games for teams I don't even like. So I tuned into something more interesting. The Hills I think it's called.

I think Ivanans won that fight but it mostly depends on if you feel body blows are sporting.
God it is absolutely awful. FSN for some reason thinks that we wants these angles.
This is just a ploy by the Kings to get viewers to attend more games.
Ivanans totally won. Nice. The "Rinkside View" is horrible.
Hmm, I have noticed that it was particularly bad this game, although I loved it when it was Phoenix/Anaheim.
Has anyone else noticed the blatant difference in quality of "Rinkside View" in this game compared to the Coyotes game?
I don't normally follow Ducks prospects, but still: WTF?
Well, fuck. For those keeping score at home, the Ducks have given up five PPGs on the season and scored a big zeeeeeeroooo.
Good thing Getzlaf can shrug it off, though.
So that's that the shot I kept hearing about. Stoll does have a cannon.
That's a frighteningly good point, Sleek.
Should we be worried this season?
Should we be worried this season?
Uh, with an ability for anybody on the top two lines or on the blueline to score a goal?
Nah, we'll be fine.

So now Doughty is hurt? I think my head is going to explode. Did anyone see Scanners?
Wow, what's up in Anaheim? Cory Perry is not justifying my love in the Blogger pool.
Off topic but ... SHARKS!!!!!!!!!
Michael Ironside was so underrated in Scanners! I still can't get over how Henry Ford stole the Academy Award away from him that year...
Aw, hell Selanne! You just ruined the meat of tomorrow's post!

Weird I'm quoting Rudy here..
Doughty left the game with flu-like symptoms.
Doughty left the game with flu-like symptoms.
I think, in modern coach-speak, that means he suffered a gunshot wound.

By the way, Cheechoo is a huge douche bag. Just watch his celebration of his goal tonight. Looks like he's.. uh, I don't think I'm allowed to say.

Did you see anything different? Maybe I'm not grasping it all with the new view.

Take it all back. I haven't blamed a referee in years.
Sorry if I was unclear; I've constantly meant that the Ducks handed it to them, not the refs.
The Kings were handed a gift and they ran with it.
Yes, this is what I am talking about.

I'm telling you guys it was pretty good during the Ducks/Coyotes game.
Brokeyard, I pretty much agree with you, but actually I didn't have that much trouble last night either. Maybe it's just my Row B training, but I guess I'm kind of used to seeing hockey a bit like that.

I'm SOOOOO glad I saw the game at Staples. I do not like that rinkside view. Wow.
Earl, I take it all back.
