It was cool highlight reel goal. Felt a little bad for Auld. He looked like he was going over that goal for the rest of the game, and I am sure he will enjoy seeing himself on the NHL highlight reel for 20-30 years.

Roenick was actually very complimentary to GM Doug Wilson, for giving him one last opporunity to erase some of the things that did not work out in LA and Phoenix. And Roenick also thanked the fans in San Jose, not just for how they have treated him, but how they gave Modano a standing ovation for his accomplishments one game prior.

I always thought Jermey Roenick was one of the most entertaining players off the ice, a monster talent on it when he was in his prime, but he has impressed me a lot off the ice as well. Last year a friend in Phoenix told me about his involvement with youth hockey in Phoenix, and they way he has treated the rookies and fans in San Jose is class.

He is definitely bringing more than I expected this season. On the scoresheet and off it.
