Things that make you go hmmm...

"You shouldn't play the way we did in a big game like this," Wilson said. "We had an opportunity to put some distance between ourselves and Anaheim, and we didn't do it. ... It's inexplicable to me not to have the extra passion tonight."

Gee, Ron, kinda been the problem for about two years now. Not saying you're necessarily a bad guy or a bad coach, but you know, you can't fire the whole team...

(Yes, I'm leaning towards the "Fire Ron Wilson" bandwagon. I have no idea who I'd replace him with, though.)

I don't know why San Jose tried to go toe-to-toe with Anaheim. They do their best when they simply play a puck-possession game and let Anaheim take stupid penalties.

Tony Granato?

Dump and chase doesn't work against Anaheim's D. You'd think after playing them so much, the Sharks would realize that.

I think there were elements of passion, but the team gets off center a little bit and they wind up all trying to do too much. Everyone's trying to stickhandle pass everyone, passes are forced or off the mark, and stupid plays are made. It's good to want to hit people, but that passion really should be channeled into the skill side, not the meathead side.

Though props to Davey for going toe to toe with Mr. Porn Star.

"Toe to toe" is one way to describe it. You could also have said "Face to fist".

My favorite part was when Craig Rivet beat Ryan Carter about the face, knocked him down, picked him back up, and then beat him up again.

Actually, my favorite part was after the fight, when Hayward tried to say that the fight was a mismatch because Rivet has a size advantage.

Rivet: 6'2", 210

Carter: 6'1", 203

Plus, Carter fights more than Rivet. Love that Hayward.

Yeah Parros really rocked him good. Then Carter took a good pounding. In Hayward's defense, I seem to remember him saying it was a mismatch because of Carter's lack of experience. But I could be wrong. Hayward is horrible. That would have happened to Perry on Sunday when he wanted to pick a fight with McClaren. McClaren was kinda looking at him with a I'd feel bad if I knock you out kinda look. Kunitz had a sweet pass to Perry.

Nabokov really pisses me off with his spears, trips and other chops. I've noticed him do that kind of crap in 3 different games. Is that a Duck thing? Or does he do that to everyone. He did make a nice save on the 2 on 0.

I think Nabokov likes to reserve that type of play for the Ducks.
