Sharks vs Detroit Red Wings photos
Detroit came in and dropped the hammer on San Jose 6-3, and as they say the game was not as close as the score would suggest. Leftover photos on Battle of California, more are up on Sharkspage.

Despite their relative records, I would say that Sharks fans and Kings fans have a lot more in common than you'd think. Their teams are destined to disappoint, and every time you think they've turned the corner with a good stretch of games, they disintegrate like wet paper.
The Sharks will make the playoffs, though, unless they pull a complete pratfall (still possible), but is any team actually afraid of them in a 7 game series? The template for beating the Sharks has been created, refined, and is now required reading in freshman Hockey Strategy 101 classes: pile on Joe and wait for the collapse.
Someone said take the C away from Patrick Marleau and give it to Joe Thornton, and it is hard to argue with that.
Chuq said give it to Mike Grier, who is an anchor on most nights. But right now based on performance alone I would have to give it to rookie center Torrey Mitchell.
Rivet and Grier are close, but no one else looks like they take a loss as hard or as personal. It translates to a hard nosed effort, and playing the body as someone would 20-30 pounds above his size.
Jon,
Your comment on Sharkspage about the Wings being on top of the NHL because everyone buys into the system is spot on. They play like a machine, from the 1st line to the 4th line. Committment to the team above personal gain is the difference. You don't see them pouting because they don't like their coach. The Sharks need to unload any player who doesn't want to make a similar committment to their teammates. And they should start with Marleau.
Dear Mr,
I'm an intern with startup widget 1000 and I created a news widget for Detroit Red Wings News.
It's updated every hour with Detroit Red Wings headlines from several different sports websites like ESPN, FOX Yahoo, etc. (Take a look: http://www.widget1000.com/)
Can we add Detroit Red Wings blog to the widget, too? That means that every time you post to your blog the headline of the post will show up on the widget and link directly to your post.
Anyone who puts this widget on their start page or on their website will see your Detroit Red Wings posts too. It's a powerful and free way to publicize your site.
Finally, would you add your Detroit Red Wings News Widget to your site so that others can see it?
Everyone who grabs the widget will automatically link to you so it's great for your search engine rankings. Plus, it shows a lot of stories about Detroit Red Wings and since it's updated every hour it is fresh and will make your site even more appealing than it already is.
What do you think?
Go Detroit Red Wings
