Ducks Gameday—Welcome to SoCal, Roberto!

Round Two, Game Two: (3) Vancouver Canucks at (2) Anaheim Ducks
(ANA leads series 1-0, JavaGeek ‘odds’: ANA 75%)

Ever have the same thought twice in one day?

Some messageboard fodder for Duck fans:
Since joining the Canucks, Roberto Luongo has gone head-to-head against J.S. Giguere five times (including pre-season).

Five times he’s lost. Three times he’s been yanked.

Luongo’s numbers: 4.33 GAA, .867 sv%
Giguere’s numbers: 1.00 GAA, .968 sv%
Pressure’s on, kid.

Prediction: Ducks 3, Canucks 2. Goals by Perry, Pahlsson, and Moen.

UPDATE: Is picking Sammy to score every game putting too much pressure on him? Pahlsson in a feature article in the L.A. Daily News:
"I'd like to score in every game, but we have to take care of our defensive responsibilities first."
Go Ducks.

Thanks for the silver lining, Sleek. I have to admit, while I'm jealous that you get to watch the playoffs at the HC, row B seats or otherwise, I don't envy any bumper-to-bumper action you or any other fans back home may be getting. :P

That's because Luongo tried to leave the game early. Little did he know bored fans were doing the same.

traffic? What traffic? Just have to know where to park in that area. Only good thing is that Angels are out of town this week ^_^

But here's to hoping I score tickets for tonights game from the boss. Not a Row B, but rather Row R behind the Ducks bench. *fingers crossed*

I dunno, growing up here has made it just a regular reality--I imagine it's gotta be a really tough adjustment for people who move or visit here, though!

*fingers crossed*

If you get 'em, make sure you give a good BoC shout-out to Sammy P. Per my experience, though, he won't hear you until you're drinking :)

Hey what do you mean? Your graphic is awesome!
I get this feeling tonight's game is going to be a little more close.
If not, I drink more, simple as that.
Pahlsson really is that good. Has he ever even been nominated for the Selke?

He's probably been nominated, but never has really been in the running; never been among the three finalists.

Thanks to the retard rule of Selke voting, he's never really had enough points to be a defensive forward.

And then it's the Jere Lehtinen stroke-off. I guess Lehtinen won't get it this year will he?

That picture is a classic...I love it...good job Earl! Will you be calling The Crazy Canucks again after this one?

Well, I'm not attending tonight, so no.

Anyway, if the Ducks win they probably want nothing to do with me--it'll be nothing but a "bash on Sleek" special Christmas episode.

Does anyone know the latest with Todd Marchant?

Earl Sleek said...

I think he's got the flu?

Just kidding. I heard he's skating on his own, but no real timetable for a return.

Honestly, I probably forgot, but I don't really even know what his injury was.

Julian said...

I think it was an abdominal tear that he re-injured.

Todd Marchant came down with a crippling case of realizing he's Todd Marchant. They're still trying to talk him down from the roof, but he should be ready for game 3.

Heh, they could always get Marchant's confidence back by having him play as himself in PS2 hockey. That guy is a digital monster--they haven't quite figured out how to program his inability to score, apparently.

It's unfortunate Selanne cannot tear an abdomin.

Or two.

COWAN! COWAN! COWAN!

Jiggy shits the bed!

Sorry how that worked out, Earl. *cough* ;)

You shall bow before the Cow-God!

COWAN! COWAN! COWAN!!!

Muahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Who knew the Ducks could turn their offense on and off at will over the course of two games? Amazing, really.

Earl Sleek said...

OK, I had this coming, I guess.

We got a series, but I'll tell ya this: if the Canucks ever win the cup, they'll have played the equivalent of two playoff years to get there.
