ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone could question the Pacific's dominance in the NHL right now. At least you can take some comfort in knowing you last in the toughest division in hockey. Be thankful you're not last in the Southeast.

At this point, I can only hope that the Western Conference rips itself to shreds in the playoffs before facing the Sens (haha, who am I kidding) in the finals.

I didn't watch last night's game, so I can't say this for sure, but there's one lesson I've learned in a few years of watching Corey Perry.
ReplyDeleteWhen he falls over and looks injured, he is definitely not injured. The times he does get injured, it's without his usual diving fanfare.
In the first round of the '06 playoffs was Perry's only other real injury, and that was from a hit by teammate Sammy Pahlsson.
I guess is that if there's any bright side, (a) Selanne can move with Getzlaf, which should be fun to watch, (b) B. Ryan gets another shot at the big leagues, and (c) the last time the Ducks played a playoff series without Perry, they swept Colorado.
Still, now you have to wonder: why was Burke so eager to unload Bochenski? Seems he could have been useful in this situation.
I'll let it slide because I am still really appreciative about the way the Finals went last year.
