Yeah, if you can believe it, one year ago today the mighty Mirtle came along and created this blog, mostly I think in karmic jest. Under the strength of the only nomination, I assumed the role of Ducks correspondent and what do you know? The joke continues.
At any rate, thanks to Mirtle and the Battle of Alberta crew (the inspirations), and of course Chen, PJ, James O’B, and RudyKelly for their part in all of this. And thanks to all the readers, commenters, and fellow bloggers for keepin’ us honest, fresh, and from time to time even humble.
Oh, and look! Jes Gőlbez, notorious Swede-hater, has even
Happy birthday, BoC blog! You have gotten me through many a dull work hour here in Boston. Maybe next year at this time, we'll have even more to celebrate (i.e., a real Battle of California).
ReplyDeleteI feel like that King on the right :(
ReplyDeleteIt has been inspiring to read this blog, it was something that motivated me to start mine. Can't wait for more down the line.
ReplyDeleteHm, apparently it's also Steve Yzerman's birthday also.
ReplyDeleteOh well; still a good day nonetheless.
Coyote didn't get an invite?
ReplyDeleteHB, BoC! Hopefully many more years of reading to come.
The best thing about this blog...no one ever asked "Is California really like Baywatch?" like I got when I was bartending in the UK.
ReplyDeleteNow, back to mourning the Sharks.
Coyote didn't get an invite?
ReplyDeleteUh, he's passed out behind the table.
Nah, it's more that I added the Texas Star since that's been James O'Brien's cup-o-tea lately. If it keeps up next year, though, I don't see why we wouldn't expand all the way to a full Pacific lineup. (Well, aside from the fact I'm pretty lazy when it comes to recruiting).
I've been reading this blog for several months now, and it's consistently been a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you guys hanging in there, even if most of your teams haven't. At least you still have the Ducks.
Somehow, it makes so much sense that the Shark is drinking a martini.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 1st birthday - I hope tomorrow we'll see video of you in a high chair smashing cake all over your face...
ReplyDeleteOkay, I was gonna ask about the star, but I think it got addressed above...
ReplyDeleteThe dejected look on that King is awesome. He's moved straight to drinking out of the bottle.
...Like many of their fans have...
ReplyDeleteCongrats! This is one of my favourite hockey blogs even though my team (the Canadiens) play your teams, well, never.
ReplyDeleteThat Shark sure looks like an angry drunk...
I honestly can't believe this blog lasted a week, nevermind a year, given the actual Battle of California has still yet to come to fruition in the Western final.
ReplyDeleteNice work though, guys. The traffic has been good these playoffs.
Kudos my friend, kudos!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday guys,
ReplyDeleteMan that l'il star can really throw down, can't he?
Man that l'il star can really throw down, can't he?
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say: everything's bigger in Texas. (Side note: that includes the airport, evidently -- my God, is DFW huge. I've never seen an airport with an LRT before. Very nice domestic gate area, too.)
If it keeps up next year, though, I don't see why we wouldn't expand all the way to a full Pacific lineup.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, it just wouldn't feel right. "Battle of the Pacific Division" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
good job.thanks ............
