NHL finds a new revenue source?

You should probably laugh at this now before it comes true.

  1. I would not be one bit surprised if it came true.

Man...I'm having flashbacks to the "Pringles Pop of the Game" on the Westwood One NFL broadcasts...

Been there, already tried that. Check out Bob Miller's book for his recollection of how in the mid-1970s Kings owner Jack Kent Cooke tried to get Miller to work in a sponsor in the middle of play by saying "Marcel Dionne was scooting like a Datsun." Fortunately, Miller had the gumption to shoot it down and pass off the "Datsun scoreboard" as a substitute.

So it would be bad, but it could certainly be worse.

  4. Yeah, selling out labels isn't new for the league, but it's still a bit different, I'd say. Marcel Dionne wasn't the black eye for hockey that headshots are.
