It's been a rough few days for Wings fans...at least the Wings beat Anaheim on Yzerman's big night...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27850362.post-1168035108467664972007-01-05T14:11:00.000-08:002007-01-05T14:11:00.000-08:00Would you sacrifice one of the good kids to get Br...Would you sacrifice one of the good kids to get Brad Stuart back?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27850362.post-1168025302242106942007-01-05T11:28:00.000-08:002007-01-05T11:28:00.000-08:00I'm just hoping Nabby waives his NTC to go to a pr...I'm just hoping Nabby waives his NTC to go to a pretty good team that needs goaltending solidified. That way the Sharks can absorb the cap hit of getting a #1. I'd bet we'd get more value for Toskala. Also, wouldn't it be nice to have a take-back in the Preissing-Bell deal? Apparently all they had forgotten to do however, was to wake up from their pre-game naps.

I was bummed about Nabby being pulled again after the defensive lapses, but can understand why Wilson did it to shake up the team.

While I am worried about our D, it's obvious they can play, but I'm not sure they can keep up the mental aspect of the game throughout the season, mostly due to their youth.

Finally, Congrats to Patty on his franchise records and to Josh Georges for his first NHL goal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27850362.post-1168012507440826902007-01-05T07:55:00.000-08:002007-01-05T07:55:00.000-08:00That was pretty frickin' amazing last night (I wat...That was pretty frickin' amazing last night (I watched a late-late-night DVR version).

I wouldn't be that worried about Ehrhoff, he seems to me to be among the 'reliable' ones, but maybe I'm not watching enough.

Oh, and one tactical point? I'm not sure if I'm fond of using the term '9 unanswered goals' for the Detroit pounding, so much as '9 straight goals'. Brent Lebda provided a worthless answer at the end of the game, though it wasn't nearly enough. In my book, 'x unanswered goals' means there was no opposition goal following the x straight goals. But that's just nitpicking.

A great game to watch, even for one who has only secondary affiliation with the PP-loving Sharks.

p.s. I did get a kick out of McSorely's pre-game 'keys of the game', one of which was "Sharks must beat Detroit 5-on-5". Apparently not, Marty.Earl Sleekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15843720035500316419noreply@blogger.com
