Kings Gameday: Marty Turco is a Rube, Sean Avery is a Hump

LA Kings vs. Dallas Stars

7:30 PST, Fox Sports Prime Ticket, Yahoo!

Marty Turco, ladies and gentlemen.

Do you guys remember when Patrick Marleau scored on his own net in overtime against the Sharks? I think he tried to stickhandle it and ended up shooting it right in. I was at the game in Anaheim and when Marleau scored I looked over at Meg and he had his head in his hands. It was hilarious.

Icethetics (which I imagine is Sean Avery's favorite blog) has a new picture of the Kings' third jersey logo. Meh, we'll see how it looks on the jersey. At least it doesn't have purple.

Sean Avery is a douche bag
. Seriously, I can forgive a lot of things, but being bad teammate to a young player isn't one of them. I would hope Brown would crush Avery tonight but the reality is that Avery probably wouldn't have the puck long enough to get hit. I'm sure he'll goad Gauthier or someone like that into a fight and mask the fact that he took 2 bad penalties earlier in the game. Therein lies the essence of Sean Avery.

Prediction: Kings win, 4-1. Goals by O'Donnell, Harrold, Simmonds and Ersberg.

Man oh man. Avery is just loathsome.

I guess I always assumed he did that to opponents to try to throw them off their game. Turns out he's just a broken human being.

Prediction: Kigns win

I guess I don't feel as guilty saying "Go Kigns!" as I would saying the alternative.

But still, do me a favor and crush those Averys tonight.

Heh, just being an Ott.

I would hope Brown would crush Avery tonight.

Yeah, based on Friday's game the Kings medical staff might want to be prepared to come out and examine the suspiciously injured body of Avery. Two minutes later, he'll be fine, but his injuries only heal once an opponent goes to the box.

I'd say he learned the trick from Ribiero, but really I think it's his own personal version of douchebagginess he's brought to the Stars.

I'm just hoping someday he really gets hurt and nobody comes out to help him.

Oh, and BoC readers may want to put a vote into this poll. I'm really curious to see whether "horrible" or "headache" wins.

One thing is for sure... Avery and Ratis won't be fighting tonight because Avery would turtle the minute he came calling. If there is a fight, I'm thinking Simmonds. Or is this the night 18 year old Drew Doughty cements his place in Kings lore by throwing a hip check Avery's way?

Sad thing about this Turco gaffe is that no one remembers the unbelievable behind-the-back basketball crossover save he made in the 2nd Period on Joe Thornton.

We all knew Turco had it in him to do this. I was just hoping it'd happen in the 2nd Round last year.

Folks, I think we're overlooking the most obvious grudge match we'd like to see tonight: Sean "The Texas Turtle" Avery vs. Jarret "Who's banging Staci's Mom now, biatch?!?" Stoll.

I would certainly look the other way if a King pounded the crap out of Avery.

Especially if the Stars still won.

Okay, to make fun of a slight speech impediment of a young teammate is just cruel.

I hope Avery breaks his jaw and has to eat through a straw while it is wired shut.

And then he has a lisp when the hardware is taken off. :)

Is anyone watching the start of this broadcast?

Still beats Rinkside View.

Wayne Simmonds shooting second in the shootout? Seriously?

I don't care if he scored. He shouldn't be taking that shot.

Both Brown hits last night were awesome, but I have to admit, I'm always a little more in favor of the ones that draw Ribiero blood. Good thing the Kings killed that (unnecessary) penalty, though.

Well done, Star-smasher.
